BLUEDART
I too am dissapointed with Audiophile in my edge. Anyway to get new speakers with seperated mid and near with cross-over? I did this with my F150 2004 with Audiophile, and made a world of difference. Do you think a better quality of speaker will amke a difference? Any and all suggestions welcome!! Speakers help but they aren't night and day different. You can replace the door speakers with component kits. Crutchfield has all the size details and adapters but I'm pretty sure you need a 5.25" component kit with adapter to fit the 5x7 door openings. I went with a polk audio setup for the front of my fusion and it was a direct drop in replacement for the factory audiophile component speakers. HerEdge
I would recommend a set of Pioneer TS-C520PRS's. My husband has them in his truck and we loves them. Granted this is just my opinion of course. Car Audio & Electronics reviewed the 6.5" version and loved them too. They come with adapters to fit the Ford 5x7 opening. They run around $220-250 online

It is a component speaker in a coax format as the crossover is built on the back . http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v3/p...1756451,00.html
