jak508
Hi All, I picked up my new Kodiak Brown Metallic with Sienna interior Edge yesterday. Attached is a picture and I have uploaded the rest to the gallery and in my picture area. It is a tough color to photograph. I walked right by the car initially because when the sun doesn't shine, it looks black. When the sun is shining it is a deep golden brown metallic. I had the dealer put on a complimentary pinstripe. I now have two coats of sealant/polish on it now. The chrome wheels were something else. Whatever adhesive Ford uses to attached the plastic sheets that cover the wheels for transport, is a royal pain (No, the kids that prep the car at the dealership didn't get it all off). Luckily I had some goo gone and some elbow grease. They are still not perfectly clean but I will get there. Also, I remember someone taking about Ford and orange peel paint. One tight shot in the gallery, you can see it quite clearly but I don't notice it while looking at in in a normal fashion. I am off to treat the leather seats now! Thanks for reading my post. JOEHIO
Looks super sweet. The color is unreal, might be the "new black". My previous ride was a '06 Explorer, color was called dark stone. At times it looked dark charcoal grey, almost black, and at times it had a tinge of dark tan/brown look to it. What type of sealant.polish did you use? Have the 20" chrome wheels on my MKX, I put a good coat of wax on them too. Might want to give it a shot. Enjoy your ride. Joe
ConcernedCarOwner
Great looking car....Did you get the Ecoboost or the V6?
richy
Congrats on the ride man! The colour is cool. Needs the sun to make it pop, just like the black does really. I had a helluva time with the adhesive too. I ended up using solvent to remove it. I think I spent 12 hours doing mine up after I got it. You should look into Opti Coat for the paint, trim, glass and wheels. It is the best coating (sealant does not give it credit: it's a permanent coating) option money can buy! I do not sell it, but use it in my detailing business: http://optimumforums.org/index.php?app=nexus&module=payments§ion=store&do=item&id=

Joe Thanks, I use a product called GLARE. I used it on my 07 MKX and 10 MKX. It can be found at glare.com. Been very happy with it. I put on 2 coats and am good to go.! It can be put on both by hand or orbital buffer.
jak508
Great looking car....Did you get the Ecoboost or the V6? Thank you. I got the V6. It's a proven engine and it had even a few more hp and torque than my '10 MKX.

I am familiar with optimum name but never used any of their products. I see they have a new no rinse wash and shine which sounds intriguing. Brock79
The dealer where I bought mine had a 13 in that color but no ECO, I wanted the ECO and they showed me a 12 in that color, but I went with the silver instead. It was a tough choice between the two. If they had a 13 ECO I most likely would have went with it.
