ttusomeone
I just purchased a 2012 Edge Limited and am loving it. I also have the new MFT update installed. However, whenever I call someone via handsfree bluetooth, they tell me they hear a lot of distortion on the other end (some describe it as wind noice - all the windows are up). I got this feedback before and after the upgrade. They come through on the speakers clearly, so I don't think it's the cell connection. Anyone else have this problem or know what it could be? My only thoughts are maybe the microphone is bad or maybe the air from the AC is blowing on the microphone (I haven't tried turning off the air to see if the problem persists). Thanks for the help. richy
This is very, very bad news if this is still happening AFTER the update!! We were all hoping that problem would have vanished.
Dingo
It's a bad mic.
akirby
It's a bad mic. Has to be. Or bad wiring/connectors.
Dingo
Mine has had no wind noise with either software. Bad mics happen when you buy them in bulk. It's not a big deal. It just snaps in to place.
ttusomeone
Thanks for the feedback. I tested it again on the way into work and my wife still heard the noice even when I was stopped and had the climate control off (she said it was worse when I was driving). I'm going to contact the dealership today to get the microphone replaced. I'll let everyone know if it fixed the problem.
djmodifyd
I had a noisy mic before the update, after the update it is VERY quiet and crystal clear so It must be your mic. Hope the dealer can fix it for you
fletcher
I still have this problem after the update. Maybe it's a bad mic, but I doubt it.

ttusomeone
To make sure it wasn't my phone, I synced my wife's iPhone (I have a Samsung) and the problem persisted. I talked to the dealership and they are ordering a new mic. I'll post when it (hopefully) fixes it.

Hope the dealer can fix it for you That's encouraging. My 2011 has been in 5 times and it's still crap. I hope the update fixes for me. JOEHIO
I have not had any problems with the phone, even before the update (which I did this past Thursday). Probably is a mic problem.
