hamman
Has anyone tried to install HIR1 or HIR2 bulbs in their Edge? I have a 2007 Edge SEL and would like to improve the output of the lead lamps but HID's are to much trouble. I know that the HIR's would have to be modified to fit but I am worried the bulb may be to long and hit the reflector shield. Any info on this will be appreciated. wlepse
Yeah I tried it and noticed no improvement. Granted mine were from my previous ride so they were slightly used but since they were highs and the previous ride also had 55W HID's they didn't get used much. But either way I see no big difference, if anything I noticed some annoying hot spots from them. Wouldn't say they are worth it. If you are going to spend that much money get a 55W HID kit and have a lot more light.
fishx65
The H9 in place of the H11 low beam mod will give you an extra 750 lumens. Ya gotta trim the little tab in the H9 bulb socket. The extra low beam lumens made a big difference in my old 2010.
doji_nj
I replaced the h11 with h9 after trimming off the extra tab. HUGE difference in visibility.
