carterdins
VCM IDS seems the best for Ford test and diagnosis. At least it's a specific tool for Ford. I borrowed one from my friend and have a try. But failed the installation at first. I even thought if there's something wrong in my OS. Luckily, a video on Ford IDS setup instruction has been found I reinstalled a XP2 in my computer and succeed. http://youtu.be/Fo6ucinzoSU

I've got a dell inspiron on windows 7 64 Premium and an Alienware M17X R3 on windows 7 64 premium as well and use my VCM on both setups. if you've never used IDS before and dont understand its functions BE VERY CAREFUL about what you do with it! You can turn your vehicle into a paperweight very fast!!!! if you need help with specific functions please don't hesitate to ask

sajid.ali
I have installed IDS V86 on my Toshiba Satellite L750 with Win7, first time it works perfect but when you restart the notebook and open IDS it gives error "Database does not match" and close the IDS. Once you repair the IDS installation it works fine but upon restart it fail again to start. Any idea? what and where is wrong?? shoulinpanther
Do you have it set up to run automatically as an administrator rondos you install it with administrator privileges? Not sure if it will help just a thought. If that's not than its something that is corrupting a registry key upon restart it sounds like. It could be neither of those though.
