Sam I Am
I read in another thread that someone had a gap in the headliner by the windshield. So I went outside and looked at mine and to my surprise I had a gap also right by the windshield on the passenger side where the headliner meets the the windshield. I thought maybe it was just a coincidence, but I wanted to be sure. So I went earlier today to a dealership that had 2 brand new sports on their lot and asked if I could take a look at them. Both still had the plastic on the seats and on the wheels, never driven, and to my surprise again, both had the same gap in the headliners. Why would Ford send these $40K plus cars out with these defects?
Dingo
Mine didn't have that gap. Mine did, however, have a gap at the rear sunroof. I smacked it and it's all better.

c_bova
i don't see any kind of gap in the headline on my 12' sport
Sam I Am
That is so weird, it was enough of a gap that you can slip your finger in there. Maybe its just a coincidence that my car the 2 at the dealership had those gaps.
c_bova
yeah i don't know, i just hardwired in my radar detector and ran the cable along that edge and couldn't get my finger in between to push the cable in unless i pulled it down some. c_bova
took a look at it again, and if you feel around the headliner in that area it seems there is something there that pushes it down some, perhaps satelite antenna? c_bova
Looking at it again, and I wonder if some light heat from a heat gun it could be molded up some as it just seems to sag in that area. I took a picture but the only thing I can see there is tab. Ā Ā Edited March 6, 2012 by c_bova

Sam I Am
MikeCho, on another thread said he took it back to the dealer and they replaced the head liner for him and they had to order it twice cause the first one was defective. The Outrage
I have the front edge headliner gap as well. Additionally, the headliner fits poorly between the two glass panels for the Vista Roof. There is a lot play in that area and the visible gap is huge.
