I think most the probs come from people over oiling them... to some extent i agree with you about being over oiled. but it boils down to 2 simple things. 1.) the only way to flow more air than the stock filter is to use less filtration media. Less filtration media means more dirt, grit, leaves, road grime, water, and what have you entering the engine. 2.) there are more electronic processes taking place in your intake tube than there were in any 10 cars 20 years ago. hence the problem with running an aftermarket filter Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But, after doing a bunch of research online, I decided I was more interested in keeping the dirt out of my engine rather then a very little bit of exter air into it...........
