bigalx58
I have a 2010 Edge. I haven't had any problems with the sync until a few days ago. While driving, my cell phone and the sync began to ring. I pressed the 'phone' button on the steering wheel like I have done in the past to connect, but the cell phone did not connect with the sender. I have to press the receive button on the cell phone in order to connect with the caller. I can send calls through sync by giving voiice commands without any problems. What can be done? Thanks. JOEHIO
I don't know for sure, but you might first try something as simple as taking the battery out of the phone, and them putting back in. If that doesn;t work, then try disconnecting (unpairing) the phone from the car, wait a minute or 2, and then reconnecting (pairing). bigalx58
I can remove/replace phone battery without any problems...but do I have to do the whole deleting/pairing routine for your second suggestion?

As a Sync Specialist i would make sure the button on the steering wheel is actually working. Try pushing the button to see if you get something on the screen like redial. I really dont think its a phone problem unless its a phone that has an operating system like the i phone or droid. In this case just like windows they have to be rebooted just like windows or they start to act up. Also go into your sync account and make sure there are no updates. Let me know if you need more help.

I did remove/install my cell battery and I was able to connect with an incoming call...perhaps I pushed the "phone" button on the steering wheel differently or it might have been a coincidence remains to be seen. Hopefully, it will continue to work. Thanks for your suggestions. Edited February 28, 2012 by bigalx58

She took the MKX out yesterday, tried to connect her Iphone, she said it would not connect. I haven't had a chance to check things out, her sister in the hospital, and she's been running back and forth. Any suggestions on what to do would be appreciated. Thanks, Joe Edited February 29, 2012 by JOEHIO

Thanks, Joe Joe, the odd time my I4 won't pair either. Happens maybe one in 50 times. Next time I start it, all is good.
ladybird4
Joe, the odd time my I4 won't pair either. Happens maybe one in 50 times. Next time I start it, all is good. Sounds like a setting problem to me. I have paired many I Phones and the only problem i have run into is people not shutting the phone down every couple of days. Make sure blue tooth did not get turned off in the car or on the phone. Keep us updated and i will figure it out for you.
JOEHIO
Thanks Richy & Ladybird4, will have to give it a try when the wife gets back home. Her sister was released from the hospital today, nothing more they can do (has battled a very aggresive cancer for 19 months), so my wife is there 24/7 until the weekend, when her sons "fill in". Will try your suggestions when she gets back home. Joe
