tclark
What brand and grade clay bar is best for removing paint overspray from a vehicle. Is there a better alternative to the clay bar for overspray removal?
richy
Like any time you try to correct something on paint, you want to progress from the least to the most aggressive. So, I would start with a mild bar like the Clay Magic blue. Make sure to use lots of lube. If that does not do it, then move up to the Clay Magic red. You will mar the paint with that bar, so be ready to polish or compound afterward. If the overspray is nasty, it's not like you've got a choice anyway. Depending on what type of overspray it is, I would also try a solvent to get rid of it. That may work if it's fresh.
tclark
Thanks for the info. Brought by truck to a local body shop for some repairs and when i got it back i was very suprised to see they detailed the whole exterior and the oberspray was almost completely gone! There is still some there but my paint job no longer feels like a piece of sand paper. I will be purchasing the pruducts you mentioned for future use. richy
It's a good idea to clay once a year with the blue to maintain the finish.
