Bad CD Player in 2007 Edge

The CD player wont eject my CDs unless I pound on the dash then scratches them. It is a single CD deck. I am going to just replace it. I can find all kinds of 6 disc player on e-bay and at our local salvage yard.

Question--will that fit and work properly? DO I need the exact part number which is 7T4T-18C869-BC. Does anyone have one for sale that I can buy?

I also have another forum talking about the dash warning light problem. I get an "eject error" when trying to eject the CD. If I pound on the dash just after I hit the eject button then I can get the cd to come out. COULD THIS BE CAUSING THE DASH LIGHT PROBLEM??????

I don't know about the dash light problem, but when I had my '06 Explorer, ( was a 6 disc changer), I would have problems ejecting most cd's. When I would hit eject, I would have to take another cd, insert it part way into the slot, to help guide out the existing cd's. Dealer said it was because many of the newer cd's were a trifle bit thicker, causing the problem. I just learned to live with it, because after the warranty expired, the dealer said that possibly the cd player was defetcive, and I didn't want to spring for a new one, because it also had nav. Needless to say, I did switch dealers.

Wish you luck.

Any Double-Din radio would work. My wife and I have an 07' Edge, and we had issues with our radio, but I had a guy fix the radio backlight for under $100. I found out later that Sonix Electronics online (Google search) sells darn near OEM replacement radios for the Edge for less than $100 + free shipping. They even include the bracket needed, and one thing about their radio is it contains a jack for an I-Pad connection.

I'm not sure what you mean by dashboard light problem. I hate all those stupid lights mandated by the government because it makes the driver question them. For instance, the traction light may come on and simply mean low tire pressure, but which tire? I still have to check all four. Plus, if the check engine light were to come on, it is so generic that I still need a code reader to figure it out. Some vehicles let the driver know that a headlight burnt out (I don't think the Edge is one of them). Anyway, drivers don't realize that the bulbs on the dash burn out, and that could cause a light to illumininate prematurely. Also, a fuse can blow -- even if it looks good. Therefore, a little trial-and-error needs to be performed.
