CShaw
So I have had some issues with my transmission jerking in low speeds. I called my dealer and they told me that "oh it probably needs the fluids checked" So I figured I would take it in at my first oil change. So I took it in on Monday and explained to them what the issue has been. They said they would take a look at it to see if they could fix it. I received a phone call from the dealership yesterday and they told me that they have ordered a new transmission for my vehicle. Because the Edge is so new, they don't make parts for it yet and it is better just the replace the transmission. I'm excited and hope that it resolves all the issues. :happy feet: I love my Edge and can't wait to get it back, particularly because i'm driving a crampy little Ford Focus as my rental vehicle. Argghhh.
pncstod
Oh my, On top of my brake booster going on me yesterday, they told me my transmission is leaking. They told my husband they were ordering parts.......now I am really scared. I wish I were driving a crampy little Focus, rather than the toxic Taurus they gave me. I hope all goes quickly and well for you.

The dealership told me that my transmission was leaking as well but when they pulled it all apart they found it was just over filled hope thats what yours ends up being. Whoa!!!! Let's get this straight. The first thing someone would do is check the dipstick to see the level. Then they put the car on a lift. Drop the Transmission out, tear it down. Put it back together again. You come in and they tell you it was overfilled? Did you notice RED Fluid where you park? That is also the same colour and type that is used for power steering. Keep your eye on this. Better yet, is to park over a ditch and squeeze under it and with a flashlight, see if you can find the source of a leak. I had a transmission leak once and it was from the bottom of the radiator, they cool the fluid there.

No I brought my car in for an oil change and while they were changing the oil they said they noticed a leak so I left it for a day and they realized it was just over filled and yes I have had them check it with every oil change and have not noticed any fluid. dune-e1
Changing the tranny in that situation sounds fishy (factory trained tech should check the fluids first) . We had a small transmisson issue on our (wife's) Edge. The transmission jerk once at low speed between gear up shift randomly. There was not a pattern to the issue (one day it jerk once, the next not at all). We took it into the dealer just to have them look this issue and they chose the reprograming of PCM solution. Sofar no jeking from the Edge
