jeffdelta
Is anyone using a cup holder type mount for their cell phone? I am unsure want to spend the money on a Pro Clip and thought might be able to use one of the two center console cup holders as a phone mount. Just purchased the iPhone 4s and looking for suggestions on how to mount it for my 2012 Edge. Thanks

I have the same question, i bought the pad a month ago, there is no good place to put it. It does not stick to the dash. Can not find any better spot for the phone other than the cup holder. dr.edge
OK, cool! I might just give it a try.
marcw
I know it works on the dash, but the pad does not stick to the dash only sits there. Wish there was a way to make the pad stick to the dash.
Dingo
It's not supposed to be adhesive. Friction holds it there, and friction holds stuff on it. Why would you want it to be adhesive?

It is a sticky pad not a non slip pad. it should stick to the dash. Put it on a smooth surface and you will see the difference. This matters a lot when you need to slam on the brakes. Dingo
Good luck getting anything to stick to that dashboard. Mine's 8 months old and is still off-gassing bad enough that 3M trim tape won't even stick.

Dingo
How have you gone through them? I have one that I bought in the late 90s. They're silicone. I chose not to go the installed route because I didn't want to have to remove and then reapply my phone case every time I get in or out. I just go pocket to dash and vice-versa. I have a windshield mount for it to run trapster when I go on road trips.
Dingo
All you have to do is rinse it with water and it's good as new.
richy
Folks, be very careful placing items that can be propelled in a collision. Newton's 1st doesn't like to be messed with.

All that ever goes on mine are sunglasses and my phone. Neither is heavy nor hard enough to make a real difference. Besides, Newton was stupid. Nobody actually likes figs. frogywill
I installed this metal dock in my Edge. It fits perfectly. The USB runs inside and to the port in the center storage. The dock is a "made2dock" black anodized metal. I ran the USB cable using info from this forum. Had to take apart the side trim and the glossy plastic around the cup holders. I used the info from the LED lights install PDF that's somewhere on thee forums! Edited June 4, 2012 by frogywill
