jeffreybehr
I've chosen a 20" tire and wheel for my not-yet-ordered AWD Edge, but I'd like to test fit one before I order 4 of them. I'm just stupid enough to order one-each tire and wheel to see how the combination fits and looks. See http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=889 for the 20X9" ASA wheel and either General or Hankook 275/45-20 tire. Any takers? I would do all the work; all you do is bring your Edge to north-central Phoenix and watch. Gorgeous, huh!?!? Any respectable shop who specializes in wheels/tires (custom, modifications, etc) should be more than happy to mount one so you can see it on your car. DJ Starr
He doesn't have a vehicle on which to mount it......
Good_Hands
He doesn't have a vehicle on which to mount it...... Oh I know. I kind of assumed he would know to go to the shop after he purchased his vehicle. It takes 2 or 3 days (even less if the shop already has them in stock) to get tires/wheels delivered. jeffreybehr
ANY Phoenix-area Edge owners interested in this? I'm about to order a tire and wheel. After much research, I've settled on the highly affordable General Grabber UHP, as good as the Hankook Ventus RH06 is.
jeffreybehr
OK, folks, am I going to have to rent an Edge to try this tire and wheel on? Personally, I LOVE the way this combination looks. Aren't you dying to see this on YOUR Edge?
Good_Hands
Nice. But I like mine better. :P Like I said, I do want to see pics tho.
MKX2007
I like the look of that wheel.
jeffreybehr
I like the look of that wheel. TY; me too. MKX, you're a lucky fella (?). The manufacturer, ASA, has discontinued this model, and Tire Rack has them sale priced. Here... http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/results.jsp...autoModClar=FWD ...is the search for Edge wheels. jeffreybehr
Well, I bought my Edge home Friday, so here it is. Fits just finely. Looks great too. The rest of them are on the way. Here's what it looks like today.

Here's what it looks like today. Yup, that is an improvement alrighty. I'll have to keep an eye out for it - I'm in North Phoenix my self. RedFire though, so those would look better on mine than yours.... :whistle:http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?# Help Toggle Side Panel
jeffreybehr
rboe, I live around 6th Ave. and Butler. E-mail me at jeffreybehr(at)cox(dot)net if you'd like to meet and compare, etc.. The rest of the wheels and tires arrive tomorrow, but I imagine with the fooling with TPMs it'll take me a few days to get them on. Thursday morning I'll be at Mighty Muf'ler on Cave Creek Rd. getting a new exhaust system. If you're loose, drop by about 9:30AM. I think I'll be replacing all the intermediate pipe with 2-1/2" stuff and going with 2 small hi-flow mufflers at the rear, at least initially. But I'm sort of perched on a knife edge here--I know it'll never sound like a powerful V8 like my Cayenne, and generally I do NOT like the sounds of loud V6s, but it has to have some exhaust noise for me! Are you sure about this rim?..shape and color?.....I am sorry but I don't think it does anything for your beatiful EDGE...but forgive me wheels are like evrything else, a matter of taste..enjoy them in good healt
jeffreybehr
svofan1: "Are you sure about this rim?..shape and color?" ABSOLUTELY! They look even better in pairs. "I am sorry but I don't think it does anything for your beatiful EDGE...but forgive me wheels are like evrything else, a matter of taste" You're so correct that each of us responds differently to the appearance of cars and wheels. You're welcome to your opinion and its expression. "enjoy them in good healt(h)" TYVM. I managed, with the help of my VERY good friend/mechanic, to get all these mounted today. Tomorrow I'll snap some pics and post them.
jeffreybehr
Well, here's what it looks like tonite with the new tires and wheels. I LOVE it! Oh yes...new exhaust-system tips. These larger, oval-shape tips fill the opening in the rear valence much better than the round Fords did. MKX2007
Now you need a body kit. That will really dial in the looks of those wheels. Do you notice any better performance with the new exhaust?

That will really dial in the looks of those wheels.I think not, but I'd like to lower it a little, maybe 3/4 - 1". Do you notice any better performance with the new exhaust? No, and I think those that do write about noticing better performance from these kinds of things are responding merely to the knowledge of the changes and not to any real perceived change...or their sensibilities are LOTS better tuned than mine.
