roy100
I live in Mexico, and my Ford Fusion 2010 bought in june 2009, comes described in the tag Ford Fusion 2010 with Nav MX Kit. It is exactly as the american version but lacks the tab Sat int the radio settings. It comes with the Sirius ESN radio ID and Travel link ID , it comes with the satelite antena, it comes with the sirius travel link page. Having all that , I decided to activate my sirius travel link, I did activate the account with that service, and paid for. ( No radio satelite adquired , just travel link). In order to be activated, one needs to set the radio on the sat page to channel 1, BUT THERES IS NO SATELITE TAB. Talking to the Ford dealer here in Mexico, they told me is not yet activated, waiting on a permit do be able to do it , Meanwhile they told me is not working. Trying to activate my just adquired sirius travel link, I have trying to figure out how to activate it my self, People that now a bit about ford computers, have told me: 1 The service in unabled in the computer settings. or 2The Sync doesnt have a module inside for the Sirius Sistem, yet it has the choices, but no sat tag on the radio page. or 3The Sync firmware is mexican and it needs a complete loading of the american version with the sat tag on. I guees the only way to re-load the version with another firmware ( the american) with be with a ford dealer in the usa? If I get the reload the Sirius Radio and travel link ESN would be others and I would be still unable to use my actual unused sub? What is really going on? how can I get that sat tag on my radio page to be able to log into channel one to receive the activation signal? Did they make it just imposible to do it? Other people just using plain Sirius Satellite radios work perfectly, and it is this factory installed just been modified to not have that sat tag on? What are my options? Thanks. roy100
By pressing 3 and 9 on the preset radio stations , with the radio off, you get a diagnostic of your Sync Sistem. For the diagnostic of the software for Sirius Radio Software, there is no version numbber, is empty. I guess it needs to be taken to the American dealer to flash it with a new version. Also the Sirius Travel Link doesnt work, it has a different ESN than the radio,( it has has its own ESN for Sirius Travel Link) and acording with the Sirius people the signal comes through the GPS, and not the Sat Radio. jsis
Hi, have you any news on that? I have an edge with MFT and there is no Sirius tab on entertainment section, just missed. But in settings I found Sirius esn and now its activated but with no Sirius button I can't use it.
candurin
Have you tried to reset mft? You can just pull the fuse panel plug and the reset should fix it.
jsis
Already did that too, I think that ford distribute a different kind of MFT versions for Mexico, there are just equal, but with the difference in the Mexican version comes with Sirius menu and buttons hidden. Waldo
Ford configures their vehicles at the end of the line based on what country it's going to. They turn on and off certain software features. You just need to find somebody that can reconfigure your system. It doesn't matter where that person is, but it's not something any dealer is normally trained to do. But if you find somebody that really knows there stuff, they can turn it on. Most of these "switches" are just hex-identifiers, so for example you may need to turn "DE8C" from 0 to 1. But the trick is knowing what the 4-digit hex code is for the Sirius.
