Tiger_Steve
Our short experience with Sirius radio was not all that fruitful. When the short trial period was over I decided NOT to renew - especially since the only benefit to me was Road Traffic. Since I could not get unless I paid for the most expensive options package, I let it lapse, and trashed all their offers. Well, it arose from the dead and suddenly the Radio Portion is working. Of course, to me. they only offered one or two channels I could stand listening to. Hmm! I wonder what happened, but I am not going to ask. :hide: Anything like this happen to our friends here? wlepse
Make sure they don't have a credit card for you on file. A buddy of mine told them to remove his credit card info last time and called about 6 months ago, they confirmed they did but when the radios were supposed to shut off they kept going. Turned out they went back through their records and billed and the same card.
wilsons66604
Sirius had a free promo period during thanksgiving. Could this be another promo event? I forgot to check my radio this morning.
Tiger_Steve
Well, it seems I misspoke about the Serious radio when I said I almost let the program "age-out" I find the better half had paid for the extension. HOWEVER, received a lengthy e-mail with THIS paragraph: "IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Your subscription service will automatically renew for additional periods of the same length as the Plan you choose at the rates in effect at the time of renewal, until you call SiriusXM at 1-866-635-2349 to cancel. See our Customer Agreement for complete terms at siriusxm.com. Be sure to read it.I never agreed to this, and believe it is presumptuous to do this, if not illegal as well! Anybody else have "auto-renew" experience? Tiger_Steve

Auto renew is a common practice. ala Audible.com, Sirius, Hulu....
wlepse
That is their new policy and that is why I posted the info about the credit card above. If you try to take your credit card off file and request paper bills they charge an extra $2/mo and they don't actually remove the CC info. Your best bet is to set a reminder to call before it expires and tell them you want to cancel. Eventually they will offer you significant discounts. I think the common offer is about $77-84/year. But when the time comes check out slickdeals.net and see what others are currently being offered.
