lhoatson
Hello all. We have a 2008 SEL with 30,000 miles. We are the 2nd owners. The original battery failed a few weeks ago. An new battery was installed at Sam's Club. Last week we discovered that the CD Changer is dead - Initially played a CD, but would not eject it, and now will not play. Chatters when Eject is pushed. This was the first CD we attempted to play, and I cannot be certain that it ever worked. At the same time we attempted to change to the Sirius Radio and received a message directing us to the dealer. The AM/FM and Sync functions continue to operate normally. We took the verhicle to the dealer, paid $91, and were told that both the Changer (entire dash unit) and the Satellite module need to be replaced - $300 each + $185 in labor. Could the battery swap have caused these issues? Is there a fix or suggestions? Is aftermarket really a viable option? Is there a repair facility competent with these units? How about a supplier of "gently used" factory components? Thanks Larry
