Funny Lincoln commercial

Recommended Posts

Just saw an ad for the Licoln MKZ and noticed that in the middle of the video they show an interior shot and the MLT has the dreaded black screen with Sync and Microsoft on it thought it is mising the "Performing Scheduled Maintenance" part but thought maybe Lincoln wass just trying to get new owners used to the idea of seeing the screen. ANyone else notice this?

Because they couldn't possibly just be advertising Sync, right? Why would they include an error in a commercial?

Give it a rest please.

Geez, lighten up.

It's just product placement but maybe it's a little bit funny that the screen they decide to use is one that if a user is not having any problems, they're not likely to ever see. If you are having problems, then you see it all too often.

I never said the MFT/MLT was rebooting in the commercial and I am sure they put it there to advertise sync. If you look at my original post I did mention it was missing the performing maintenace part. I just posted it because I thought it was funny since many people are seeing a similar screen but not for the same reason.

Look - you guys weren't here last Fall/Winter right after the Edge debuted with all these problems so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. We've already been through the discussions on who's having problems and who isn't and what Ford should or shouldn't do about it. It's been debated back and forth ad infinitum and there's no reason to start it all over again - especially when Ford is actually announcing good news for a change.

Wow seems like you are overly sensitive. I posted this thread because I thought it was ironic they would chose that screen of all screens to show in their ad. To me it makes no sense, even if they were trying to advertise sync. It would have been a lot more impressive to people seeing the commercial if it had a full color screen, or showing some 3D map, giving you your 5 day weather forecast...anything really. If they really wanted to get the sync message across they are better off saying it than showing it...most peoples eyes will not be drawn to a black and white image unless they know to look for it.
