ShopVac
Hello all... My name is Joey and my wife and I recently decided to get a new winter beater...choosing the Ford Edge. Been a while since I've owned a Ford, but I've always had great luck with them in the past (discounting a crappy Ford owned MazdaSpeed6). Most recently was a 2000 SVT Contour, which to date has been one of my most favorite rides. This is the first automatic that my wife and I have ever owned...so it takes some getting used to. And unfortunately, my wife has already had some issues with Sync and the navigation locking up on her and some functions with her Windows Mobile phone (HTC) not working (odd, you would think the left and right hands of Microsoft would talk to each other) Needless, small news, as I'm hoping an update from v1.8 will help. Here's some pics of the whip (not that yinz haven't seen an Edge before)...basically has everything with the exception of the 20" hub caps (I would rather have 18's in the snow). I look forward to some healthy conversations in the future. Happy motoring :-)
NatG
I had a Ford Contour Sport V6, myself. Great car: fun to drive. Best of luck with your Edge.
ShopVac
Yep...Contour's where great cars that had unbelievable handling. Too bad the American public thought they where just face lifted Tempo's.

ShopVac
And the back seat was a joke. Tight it was, but it was in lines with that of a 3 series or A4 at the time. I thought it was more important that it held my golf clubs Edited November 3, 2011 by ShopVac
NatG
And the back seat was a joke. I went clown car with mine and had 3 adult males in back, driving 45 minutes to a concert. Lol good times.
Dingo
Uh, the Tempo was not fun to drive. I had an '86 Tempo four-door with a 4-cyl and a stick. It was 0-60 in 6 tries.
KonaBlueSport
Sad to hear you didn't like the Speed6. I traded in my 07 Velocity Red Speed6 for my Kona Blue Edge Sport. Loved the Speed6 and didn't have any problems with her. Traded is as reoccurring ankle problems forced me to give up stick shift. Edge is a totally different animal from the Speed6 yet overall I'm happy with the Edge. Either way welcome.

I had one stint where it spent 28 days in the shop straight. The car was overboosting at 25psi, causing a hard fuel shutoff that was equivalent to a hard acceleration followed by hitting a brick wall. Much harder than that of a a rev limiter. They flew a specialist in to look at it, turned out to be an issue with the waste gate getting corroded wide open. Along with issues where the car would not boost at all on occasion (until the car was shut off and back on), an AWD system that clunked under moderate acceleration, and electronic glitches out the wazoo...I felt it was time to let it go. My 335xi was the replacement for this one though.
ShopVac
Hey OP I see you really like the hubcaps. It's a ton of money for some plastic...that's for sure. <_<
