Circle3
I own the Edge 2011 Limited with HID headlights. This car has no Daytime Running Lamps (DRL). Local dealer says the BCM can not be programed to have DRL with HID lights. I see posts that Canadian dealers have the software to turn on DRL with HID headlights. Is there a third party solution for this in the US? Thanks, S
Scorpio
A friend recently did this with a Ford he'd imported from the U.S. - the dealer did indeed enable DRL's by reprogramming the vechicle's PCM. Not sure what they had to actually change in the programming, but he definitely has DRL's working now on a U.S. market car. That was easily done on other Ford vehicles but the 2011 Edge is different for some reason.
factor99
That was easily done on other Ford vehicles but the 2011 Edge is different for some reason. DRLs are required in Canada. Since all the Edges come down the same assembly line there must be a way for Ford to change it.

Ford - yes. Canadian Dealers - yes. U.S. Dealers - no. No idea why.
