Zewer
Hello Everyone, This is my first post on the forum, and hopefully it will be the easiest way to find the answers I'm looking for. I bought a new car (Ford Edge Limited 2011) couple of months ago, and since then I couldn't figure out how to install/enable navigation. When I first went to the dealer to buy the car, they told me that they no longer get the cars with the navigation system installed on it. I have no idea why, but considering that I live in and bought the car from a dealer in Amman - Jordan, I would say it might be possible to avoid update problems or anything. Anyway, I got the car and there is no navigation. I surfed the net to find a way to install it, and never got the chance to stop by a post or a website that explains it clearly and enables anyone to easily follow instructions to install/enable. Can any one help here with easy instructions and advise? Thanks a lot.
wlepse
From what I have read you can't add it on your own. There is speculation that Ford may enable you to do so in the future but as of now it isn't possible. But the navigation is loadded on a flash card (SD) that goes in your consol slot. Once the necessary changes have been made in the program by the dealer it should work. I say should work since the hardware is the same between nav and non nav units but the MFT is very buggy so it may not be that easy. This may also be the reason Ford is not currently allowing you to add it in the field.
