TheCanadian
We did a long trip this week end (2000km) and decided to keep a log on MPG. I’m glad to say that the real fuel consumption is much better than the one on the INFO. My info showed our best and worst @ 13 and 15L/KM, by calculating log I got 8.2 and 9.5 ! I'm very happy about this but why the INFO is giving me the wrong numbers? http://www.tdiclub.com/misc/conversions.html Edited July 18, 2007 by TheCanadian

It just remembers the number of miles driven since the last reset and how much fuel has been used. If you don't reset it then it's giving you the average since you last hit reset, not the average for the last tankfull. The computer is normally within 1 mpg of the actual measurement - it's very accurate.
818EDGE
Ours was accurate on our last long trip. Don't forget, that sometimes if you top it off a little extra, you can change what it seems like you used.

sim
Mine has been close to the calculated value, at least within 0.5 MPG on the computer.
TheCanadian
Thanks guys, the reseting did the trick! I thought it was showing the average MPG, but it shows the MPG at that minute!
akirby
Thanks guys, the reseting did the trick!I thought it was showing the average MPG, but it shows the MPG at that minute! No, it shows the average SINCE YOU LAST RESET IT. Of course when you first reset it then it will change rapidly.
