DunePearlEdge
I recently purchased a used 2007 Ford edge. The body was clean except for a paint scrape on the rear passenger side door that is covered up by the front passenger side door. The cause of this damage may have been due to the prior owner slamming a seat belt in the door. The first picture shows the location of the damage, the second a close up of the damage on the rear passenger side door and the third picture shows the corresponding damage on the inside of the front passenger door. What can I put on this on both of these trouble spots to prevent them from rusting permanently? By permanently I mean something I can put on that only requires one application and will last the life of the vehicle, if posible. The dealer suggested nail polish but that sounds a bit crude to me. Please excuse the size of these images, they will be resized when I get to a different computer.
akirby
Easy - just get some touch up paint, sand the area smooth, put a little primer on if it's bare metal, then the touch up paint. paintscratch.com can give you a complete kit and instructions.
richy
Dr Chip is another very good kit. I recommend it from experience.
