Limited59
Does your '11 3.5L have one muffler or two? I ask because I thought these vehicles had one muffler per tailpipe but mine appears to have only one long muffler mounted perpendicular to the vehicle, at the back. NatG
I'm pretty sure it's one Muffler that splits to dual outlets (tailpipes). If I were by the car, I'd check. I'm sure you can find exhaust diagrams online with a little Googling.
Limited59
I've searched... even the OEM Ford parts website shows two mufflers, not one.

Limited59
Thanks for the photo! I will do the same and post back. Not sure why mine would be different from the rest... yours has the trailer package right? Maybe that has something to do with it.

I wonder if it IS because of the Tow Package I have. On a kinda related note...I've notice that the exhaust pipe condensates and drips at the Y split area. Really noticeable in cold weather. Limited59
Here are a couple of photos. July '11 build date on this Edge.
cal3thousand
Here are a couple of photos. July '11 build date on this Edge. New design. They must be saving some money with the integrated unit. I think that the fabrication of that weld had to cost something versus a single unit that has the split constructed into the thing. There could be other things involved too since extra external welds means chances for leaks etc.
roversd
My sister has a 2011 Edge Built early in the year and it has the 2 mufflers and mine is a July build and it has the one muffler.

i20sailor
My 2011 Limited AWD with Tow Package built in Oct 2010 has 2 mufflers.
wlepse
2011 SEL AWD that has two cans. But now I know why there seems to be so much bad info on what hitches fit these cars. For anyone interested I have a Valley hitch that will fit the old style exhaust with stamped cans. Might fit the single can version too but I don't know.
