laurelbp
2011 Edge Limited, 5,000 for the past several weeks there is a "rubbing" noise coming from the right front tire when taking a right turn. Took it in for 1st oil change and mentioned to service manager. They acknowledged they heard the noise do not know what it is. I have to bring it back for them to take a longer look. Wondering if anyone on the forum has any experience with something similar?

specialk4523
Yes, i have this problem on my 2011 edge sport and a couple other people have this same problem, word is that it is the heat shield between the exhaust and engine backing plate was flexing while turning right and caused the sound. The dealer claimed they adjusted it but the sound didn't go away!!!!! Crown Ford sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sherrysworld
I also had the same erkkking noise on brand new 2011 Edge Ltd. when making right turns. Now have 1000 mis. on it and took it in to the shop last week. After I took a mechanic for a ride, it was fixed quickly. I was told they tweaked the distance between the paper thin heat shield and a transmission mount bolt.
edge535
I have the same problem I took my car in 2x about this issue, went out for a test drive with a mechanic. They kept my car for 2 days only to have no clue or what was causing it. 12600 miles later still hear the same problem but not as loud **sigh**.
