mitchb
Have a 2011 Edge Limited which is over a week old. Noticed where the bumper meets the headlamp on the L/S was outward about an inch away. I pushed it in and felt like it popped back into place. After a day of driving, it was out of place again. Have to bring to dealer to inspect, has anyone else seen this issue? Edge_Beast
This happens on my 2011 Sport. Noticed that the very next day when I took it home. It appears as if one of the tabs that holds the bumper to the fender doesn't do a good job of keeping it and holding it in place. It is annoying. mitchb
Thats it exactly, did you get yours resolved? Have to stop by dealer to have them take a peek at mine
Jason Swenton
Has anyone had this figured out by Ford? I hit a hard bump and they can't figure out why it wont stay in place EVEN after replacing the part that secures the two pieces together (bumbper and fender)
20EDGE13
Mine does this too, about 1/4 inch. Just pops back in, but never stays. Bothers me a little, not enough to take back in til my oil change is due. Mine is 2013 SEL. Ā
Jason Swenton
Ok so the body shop that my Ford dealer uses stated that its basically a bumper flaw that can happen the way the bumper and the fastner behind it work as it doesnt secure down the entire piece (more or less rests in place.) So It can easily pop out unless secured down with something to truly hold it in place (epoxy). I could attempt to get Ford to cover it under warranty, but it still may not get 100% covered. So I had the body shop epoxy it down and am not messing with it anymore. Ā It drove me NUTS to see my brand new Edge (now my 3rd one) having a crappy defect that I had to fix everytime I hit a bump. Soooo not cool...but all better now.... :-) Ā When in doubt.....EPOXY...lol..... Ā If it pops up after the epoxy, then i'll DEFINETELY escalate the issue back to Ford. 11edgelimited
Have it too, 1/4, and on both sides
mustang92
I have it on the L/S, out about 1/4 inch and a space between the bumper and fender. My dealer says they will need to remove the fromt bumper and replace/reattach the clip underneath. I have an appointment Monday. Fingers crossed that it fixes the issue. ...
Mine does it on the passenger side, noticed it the day after we got it.. It's a 13' if that matters Did anyone have any luck with the dealer replacing the body clip?
kbaboomi
I'm another victim to this. Notice it next morning on the passenger side. I've taken it to the dealer and all the advisor could say is "take it to the body shop" it doesn't kill me to see it but I have contiplated on taking off the bumper myself and checking everything
kc300c
I've actually developed a habit of walking by bumping it back in every time I get out of the car. Mine isn't that bad (about 1/4") and don't want to make a special trip to the dealer to fix it. I'll wait until I have to go in for something else. Even though I have never had to take into the dealer since I leased it 10 months ago. (knock on wood).
Randy Jacinto Buse
i've ask the dealer to fasten it back during one of the regular service schedule. I was told that the clip needed to be replaced.
jmbreeze23
I have this too on a 2012 Edge Limited. It's on the driver's side and pops out about 1/4" inch. I regularly push it back in, but the service guy at Ford showed how pushing on the lower front bumper - like wind if you were going down the road, makes it pop back out. It's the way the clip was designed. My other option they told me was ford could replace the bumper cover under warranty... but I would be worried the paint won't match. I like the epoxy idea. Ā I'm going to ask about it again when I take it in for the oil change @ 25k miles.

Woodchip
OK, this looks like an old post, but we recently purchased a used 2013 Ford Edge Limited and it has this problem! Curious to know if there are any new solutions to this problem, of if the only solution is to keep pushing the bumper back in every time you see it sticking out. Happens to both right & left sides on our car.
