jimmkx2k11
Thanks for the reply but I guess I'm asking for a master list of the 10,000 commands. http://www.fordsyncforum.com http://syncmyride.com
akirby
Thanks for the reply but I guess I'm asking for a master list of the 10,000 commands. Did you look on both sites? If there is a list it will be on one of those sites.
wilsons66604
Did you look on both sites? If there is a list it will be on one of those sites. Ya. Right next to the UPDATED list of compatible phones.
akirby
Ya. Right next to the UPDATED list of compatible phones. So why don't you volunteer to go test them? Considering how many cell phones and smart phones are available today and how often new models arrive not to mention OS updates it would take an army to keep up with it. Show me any other bluetooth interfaces that list a current and complete list of all compatible phones by model and OS version. I'm not making excuses for Ford here - just pointing out that it would be an enormous task in today's environment for anybody so it's understandable why they haven't done it lately. In the beginning there were far less phones to be tested so it was relatively easy. It would be nice to see the biggest selling phones updated regularly. Maybe when they finish the rewrite and stabilize it they can devote more resources to it.

Chalk this up to another thing Ford dropped the ball on with this Touch.

wilsons66604
What's out of date about it, specifically? It was updated just a few months ago. Oh really? I was unaware...... I was just able to locate the list. jeez that was a choir. OK. It does look like they updated the list. If they had this list available when I ordered 12 months ago, I wouldn't have ordered. It says SMS & audio streaming is not available on iPhones! Well that's inaccurate. Good job Ford. Oh; take notice. Ford was only able to list 2 (obscure) phones that support their highly marketed SMS feature. That's a sad story that they couldn't come up with more than that on the updated list. Exactly! I had to skip the log in and just poke around as a non registered user. I guess the Ford Sync monkeys were fighting over the football. Quality EDIT, Here is the list...WOW http://www.nsapp.fordtechservice.dealerconnection.com/sync/usEN/sync_us_EN_iop_2_00.pdf Edited July 18, 2011 by wilsons66604

Quality EDIT, Here is the list...WOW http://www.nsapp.for...EN_iop_2_00.pdf What a joke. 1) T-mobile is not even on there. 2) Droid X has MAP profile for SMS but says no on the list. What happened? I'm thinking that these were the only phones available in the office on the day they decided to test functionality. Poor at best.

That's a sad story that they couldn't come up with more than that on the updated list. So now Ford should write their own cell phone firmware for every carrier/every phone so Sync can read text messages? I suspect if they weren't so busy trying to fix/rewrite the current version they might have more time to do more testing. But honestly - why should Ford have to test every single phone and OS version out there? Why aren't you blasting the cell phone mfrs for not providing the bluetooth profiles in the first place? Just because you're disappointed that your phone doesn't support this feature doesn't make it Ford's fault. You should be mad at the cell phone mfrs for not support all the bluetooth profiles. choff1138
To start out, Ford should not have released My Ford Touch last year. Really? - the two of you are still having this argument? I think it is safe to say - everyone agrees - It shouldn't have been put out last year. But it was. It does appear that Ford is attempting to fix it. Maybe not as fast as we would like, but they are attempting. Hopefully this new update this month will be AMAZING! and we will all fall in love with the system like was planned. Maybe I am just to much of an optimist.

On my way back to the office this afternoon, I was thinking that the BT Audio had been working great the past two days.... Just then, the touch screen locked up! No response at all. I got to the parking garage, turned off the car and opened the door. The AM radio kept blasting away. It would not shut off. I ended up getting out of the car and walked away with the radio blasting. It finally shut off when I got about 50 feet away. Bring on the update!!
akirby
To start out, Ford should not have released My Ford Touch last year. I agree. But that doesn't have anything to do with the number of cell phones that support reading text messages and whether Ford can do anything about that. But that doesn't have anything to do with the number of cell phones that support reading text messages and whether Ford can do anything about that. They shouldn't have tried to sell it like it would work, when the support is clearly not ready. People (general masses) don't know about BT profiles and the like. Ford says the car reads texts through BT, it had better do it for the majority of top selling phones. OR they should have said that this is spotty and support will be increasing as phones gain functionality. AND they shouldn't have left the compatibility testing to the jokers at Geek Squad. I see better things coming out of Android development sites; and these are 20 year-olds doing the work after school on their free time. (BTW 2.11 is officially available today.) goatee
Verizon only lists one phone with text to speech and it is the LG Cosmos. I have the LG Cosmos - text to speech with the sync system actually reading incoming text messaging worked on the first attempt and has not since then. Is a master reset in order or is the phone just bad? My first phone was Motorola V9m Razr and it did not support text to speech technology and I did delete this phone before syncing up the LG Cosmos.. If you had the Touch system reading a text message to you, your phone must be compatible! Go into the Touch system menus and find the settings for you LG. Make sure the options to read text messages are enabled. If that doesn't work, delete the LG device from Touch and delete Touch from the LG. Now pair them again. Good luck!
