I installed the spectre intake and tried both the k&n filter and the spectre filter. The spectre has and open end where you can run a ram air system and it sounds a bit smoother. Between the SCT tune and the cold air intake I can feel a serious difference in zip. Plus, I do like the sound. Didnt we buy the sport model for more than just the Bbdge and a different grill?

where did you guys find these intakes? I've been looking online for one and cant seem to find one for the 3.7 v6! I can only find them for the 3.5. Also does anyone have an exhaust for theirs? if so, what brand and where did you find it? Please pm me or call me at 954-993-4051 and ask for Dave.

We think a lot alike bro, the only reason I am getting it is because of the sound. It's a beautiful thing!

(Thought I'd post my reply from another CAI thread here as well)

"To start, I'm lurking on this forum, because I'm planning to lease a '12 Sport when my '08 Infiniti G35x lease ends this month. I like what I have been reading so far on the Edge.

Ā

To the topic at hand, I installed a CAI on both of my Chrysler 300c's (HEMI V8) and loved them. I have no empirical data to support it but the data from my seat-of-my-pants-o-meter says it helped improve throttle response and low end torque. I'm fairly sure it was all in my head, but the awesome sound it put out during WOT (wide open throttle) sure made me and anyone driving near me think it did. (Amusing side note: I bought the Mopar CAI for $299.00 in 2004, used it for 4 years and sold it on ebay for $240.00! The price for an identical new one had gone up by almost $100). I would have put CAIs on my current '08 Infiniti G35x but I would have had to buy two of them. The Nissan 3.5L V6 has two separate intakes.

Ā

Bottom line on a CAI, don' buy it because you think it will give you a noticeable / measurable increase in performance, most likely it won't. But DO! buy it because of the fun sound it will put out at WOT. You'll get a good sound that"s a hell of a lot less expensive and easier to install than an exhaust system swap out. You should b e able to get a good portion of the cost back when you decide to switch to another car and sell the CAI.

Ā

If I do wind up getting an Edge Sport (or any other car for that matter), it's a certainty that I'll have a CAI installed in it before I fill up my gas tank for the first time."

Where did you get your Spectre intake?

I put on a K&N No. 77-2583KS cai and have a whilstle under load. I initially installed it, then re-installed it and reset the ECU and still have the whistle. Does anyone know how to get rid of this? '13 Sport AWD if that matters. I'm just wanting some feedback before I go to the dealer tuesday. A solution might save me $113 if someone has it.

Whistles are pretty common, especially on short intake tubes. Ford used to have issues with the IAC valves causing a whistle like hum. The only real fix is to change the angles of the air slow. Good luck with that though. Truth be told, if you don't have a bigger exhuast and tune to go with it, increased intake air does nothing below 5-6k rpm. If the whistle is that annoying, send it back. Just being honest, not tryin to be an ass
