IANSTOCK
I have a 2011 Edge SEL. I plugged an iPod into the A/V connections yesterday, and the video starting playing, as expected. However, as I drove away, the video continued to play (unexpected). Sometimes it stops the video when I am in gear. Other times it keeps on playing. Anyone know if this is random, or are there scenarios whereby it keeps playing, even while driving? Ian

I'm guessing that it's just part of the system being slow..or it cuts out when you hit a certain speed. M.
baum
How face are you going when it cuts in and out? I believe its off of the speed sense. meaning if you are going slow it will play, but once you reach a certain speed it will cut out. Its meant to cut out since its illegal to have video in motion where the driver can see it.

Cuts out at ~5 MPH IIRC Edited June 28, 2011 by cal3thousand
mv-clear
Cuts out at ~5 MPH IIRC That sounds about right, however it used to cut out as soon as I put the car back in drive.. Maybe it will return back to that behavior if/when Sync reboots.. who knows.. not a biggie. M.

Ian For me, video only plays while in Park, the moment I shift out of Park the video is blocked and a pop-up on the screen says something like "video enabled in Park only" Lately my rear view camera stays on for 15-30 secs after I shift back into gear from reversing. Used to have the same issue with my rear view camera too - when I had it at the dealership for my oil change, mechanic said it shouldn't do that, upgraded me from v2.4 to v2.8 and now the rear view cuts out immediately after shifting out of reverse. Oh, and other things on MFT/Sync worked better too thanks to the upgrade.

I'm sure once it gets around to rebooting it will probably fix itself, just too lazy to pull the fuse.. I agree 2.8 is much better than what I had before (1.8) but i'm hoping newer versions come out with more features and better speed/stability. M. tpm419419
What little birdie told you that? Pretty sure something was mentioned on one of the forum topics here. Plus Cnet Roadside Assistance was talking about the update with one revision being items on the screen in bolder type.
