blankster
Starting in 2011 the oil filters changed from 2010 so they may be a bit larger (not sure). The 2011 manuals may not have been adjusted. On my last oil change (a 2011 3.5) I put in 6 qts and it was fine.
Brudda*Termite
Two years later, this says the 2011s and up use 6 quarts: https://www.fcsdchemicalsandlubricants.com/main/quickref/oilchart.pdf Damn engineers, I guess they're just as flawed as we minions... SyN
Our 2012 holds exactly 6qts. Just changed with 5Qts M1 5W-20 and 1Qt M1 0W-40 for the summer oil change. Brought it right up to the full mark on the dipstick.
Ford_Fan
I have never changed the oil in my 08 Edge myself. I take it to the dealer. The last time I took it for an oil change, the mechanic came to me and said that my Edge takes 6 quartz and there would be an additional charge for the extra quart. They never put 6 quartz in the other times. As for engineers, don't get me started! I work with engineers daily and know first hand not to trust anything they design!
