vikta
HI Every one, I am new here and to Forums. So I don't have any real experience with writing topics. I think some others might find this discussion interesting. Ravelco kill switch. I really like it and just had it installed on my recently purchased 2008 Edge SEL AWD. I also had it installed on my 99 F150 for four years before trading it and never once did it fail me or give me any kinds of problems or issues what so ever. I know that these kits are available on Ebay for less then $100 dollars. But I truely believe that having it professional installed makes all the difference and I paid twice to have it professionally installed first on F150 and now just last week on my recently purchased 2008 Edge. I paid $450 with tax and professional install by Ravelco installer here in New Jersey. This was the same person who did my install four years ago (Chuck). took him almost four hours for each install. I just wanted others feedback on their systems they use and why, I believe most other will have much more experience then my self, but the idea of this topic is to show others what kind of systems are out there letting them make the chioce for themselves. Pros: amost impossible to hot wire, crocks don't have time to figure out wiring if they can even find them. vehicle would have to be towed then figured out. wire comes out factory and Ravelco installer uses same wiring diagram Manufacture uses. Very easy to use and you don't leave switch in vehcel where it can be found. Ton of combination of switch keys and pin combinations. No issues with any electronic problems such as controls (computer), wiring, shorts, dead batteries, or even worse the crook steals your ride and disables your system. this would include disabling recovery systems also. like lojack, I don't know about lojack by OnStar can be easily defeated just by removing the antena! or would you rather recieve your vehicle back after the crocks are done taking what they want off of it, if you even get it back? I didn't pay full coverage with my insurance even though they tried to tell me or insist that I had to. they said because I have a loan that I would have to pay full coverage. I beleve that is correct if the vehicle is under THREE years old. So for the second time I am saying on insurance. Pay for the Ravelco System and Professional Install. Time and Time again as long as I own this vehicle and I believe that will be for a very long time. Cons: any vehicle can be towed. you will need to remember to remove your switch or have some device that connects car keys and switch such as a cable of some kind. In four years with my F150 I did forget a few times to remove key and tug my keys when I get in and out of car to check, my personal reminder. I do hope to post pictures later for all those who might be interested but I haven't taken any yet possibly in the next few weeks.
