tomaszc
Hello. Does anyone know if the 2011 tail lights fit the 2008 Edge? I need to take my 2008 edge to Europe and they require amber tail light turn signals. The 2008's are red. Any suggestions?
cal3thousand
Hello. Does anyone know if the 2011 tail lights fit the 2008 Edge? I need to take my 2008 edge to Europe and they require amber tail light turn signals. The 2008's are red. Any suggestions? The 2008 turn signals are married to the brake light bulbs, so you definitely need another solution. The 2011 are only amber per the bulb tint, but it is separate. Having said that, the swap can work... it would take a bit of work in rewiring things at the pigtails. You would have to split the 3 wires going into the old pigtail into 4 wires for the new separate bulb configuration.

Depiry
I ordered one tailight to see about the fit,ad to the wiring I am going to use the existing configuration for stop and signal, not using the amber turn signal,Later I will use the upper stop lamp circuit to trigger a relay with another power feed to operate the stop lamps and the use the stop lamp circuits to power the amber lamps,I will modify the wiring on the signal switch so the ambers don't work when you apply the brakes,Marty 2010 Edge Limited Edited May 21, 2011 by Depiry

Feirstein
There are electronic converters used when a combined all red tail light is connected to a trailer using amber turn signals. A web search and then a few confirming phone calls should set you up with what you need.
ThinLine
Hey Tomsack, if this is temporary for your trip you could always go to pep boys, autozone...etc. and buy the transparent amber color tape and cut it to fit the outside of the lens to give the illusion of amber color signals......I know this is as ghetto as it gets, but It is just another idea/solution to your dilemma. I know the stop lights and turn signals run off the dual filament but you may be able to make it work.ma. Brian Cu
Is there any malfuntions on the tail light by retro fitting them on the older edges? As far in using brake and turn signal together without usin te amber turn signal?
