EricRN
I have a 2011 edge Sel. I am trying to wire in a radar detector to my auto dimming rearview mirror. Any ideas which wire is pos and neg? I had it wired up in my 2010 F150 with no issues and a search on this forum does not give adequate info re: 2011MY. Thanks in advance for the help. marcw
i wired my passport; i connected the power/negative directly into the back of the power plug of the mirror. It has been 3 weeks with no issues. Do you need the diagram for the wiring? My installs(minus the correct wiring. I do not remember at the moment) I took a heavy duty tel line, spliced the 2 middle wires, went to radio shack bought tiny wiring pins, solder the pins to the wire, (when i did not solder, the wires fell out) crushed the pins flat. Slide the 2 pins into the back of the mirror jack. very easy, hardest part was not to confuse the +/-, the wiring digram on the net, have a different wiring colors for tel line versus network line. marcw
i will not be home for a while, but the pins for the mirror is the 1st and 4th(can be the 3rd) wires, make sure you test with a voltage meter. The wire colors make sense. What radar are you using. I built something like this: http://www.invisicord.com/order.html the issue with this one was the pins are too large to fit. EricRN
I am putting up a v1 newest gen. First and fourth? Are they pos and neg respectively?
marcw
it think the colors where black=neg, green =power. but test first. i am not home to look at it.

EricRN
Which wire posts did you purchase?
marcw
I believe it was this:9-Position Male Crimp D-Sub Connector, I bought it just for the pins and threw out the connector. Here is a better picture of something similar. After I soder it on, i flatten it out in my vise.
