flyerjmr33
When you take the price out it looks like this. http://www.gmtruckcentral.com/articles/oilfilter/gradesheet.htm XG5........Fram.......A-...A...C...A M1-302...Mobil 1....B... A...A-...A "You can pay me now, or pay me later" ab Normally, I sell the vehicle before I've ever had a problem --- so, I'll just let someone else pay later--- I really don't want to drive a vehicle for 20 years to prove that one filter is better than another--- 20 years and the body and interior will be ready for the scrap heap BUT-------------- you'll have a helluva engine? Gimme a break---
epsanto2
I do not know if you are using the correct part number, but if you are, check to see if the rubber seal from the old filter was stuck to the engine. Make sure the new filter seal is pressed into its groove. Use oil only on the rubber seal and tighten 3/4 turn after good contact of the filter and mating surface. If the filter application is in question compare the diameters of the rubber seals and the threaded hole. On a separate note, Fram would be the last choice for a filter. Use a Motorcraft, Purolator or NAPA. Glad to hear I am not the only one to have left the old one on.... oh well, my garage floor won't rust.
