New 2011 Edge Sport Owner

Hi folks, let me start off by thanking all of you for the information you have made available via this forum. I have been looking at several vehicles for about 3 weeks and the info I found here helped me settle on a 2011 Kona Blue Edge Sport. While the info on this vehicle wasn't always positive, it helped me make up my mind nonetheless.

Now, that I'm officially an Edge owner I'd like to know where would be the best to look in order to purchase accessories or make any modifications. I'm leasing so I realize that its best to keep such purchases to an absolute minimum but there are a few things I would like to add to the vehicle. Mainly, (1) HIDs, (2) Custom Ford Edge All Weather Floor & Cargo Mats., and (3) Remote Starter. I'm also going to get all of the windows (including the front windshield) tinted but I know exactly where I'm going to get that done.

So my questions are; (1) are there any specific HIDS, custom mats, and / or remote starters that you guys can recommend? (2) If so, where should I look to make that purchase? (3) And, am I missing any accessories or modifications that you guys consider "must haves"? Thanks in advance for any info. I look forward to being a part of this forum moving forward.

Hey Ralph,

Real sweet looking ride there, guy. You might want to check out AutoAnything (.com). They have a whole bunch of stuff. Seeing that you are leasing, you might want to check out if they allow window tinting. They usually want a car back the way you got it - no modifications. You tint, there might be a penalty at the end of the lease. Don't want to see you get screwed down the road.

Thanks for the feedback fellas. I'll make sure to check both websites.

Joe, thanks for the heads up about the window tinting but I think tints come off fairly easily if it turns out to be an issue with the dealership upon the end of the lease.

Edgieguy, did you go with 35 Watts or 55 Watts? Also, are the "error eliminator" or "adapter cables" options necessary?

Ive always used the 35's, so i decided to try the 55's and see what they were like. Not a real discernable difference to me. I bought the wiring harness for $12.50. Its got dedicated battery power, a fuse holder, and a relay. You plug into that, your headlight voltage triggers the relay and their harness holds all the electric while the lights are lit. Error eliminators were not needed. You probably dont even need the harness, but i always used it anyway.
