Classiccars
My wife and I test drove a 2011 Edge Limited with the 20" chrome wheel option. I thought the ride was a little hard and sometimes felt like a small truck. My question is: Is the ride any softer/better with the 18 inch wheels? I like the car, but don't like the ride. Does anyone else think the ride is a little too hard? Let me hear from the owners .... Thanks Edited May 7, 2011 by Classiccars

Traded in a 2008 edge for a 2011 and had the 18 inch on the 2008 and really likek them. Also i will like them when they have to be replaced. they are much less expensive. Also less chance of messsing up rims with the 18 inch. Hope this helps as it is my opinion and others will probobly disagree.

cal3thousand
I wanted 18"s the whole way... So when the car I was about to get was sold to someone else before financing approved, I actually lucked out. Ended up with the same car but 18s and I think the ride is better. The 20s are heavier and only the Sport has a specially developed suspension to handle the 22s.

Tires are low profile expensive and many complaints about how easy it is to damage the rims. Also the ride is ok but still bumpy and rough. Sport was not even a consideration for me. Feirstein
As new fuel economy rules kick in over time those heavy 20" and 22" wheels will fade into history. A dumb styling move that may please the eye but does nothing for performance; nothing.

A dumb styling move that may please the eye but does nothing for performance; nothing. My Edge rides great with the 20" wheels - FYI sometimes the dealer really airs up the tires causing a hard ride. The one you test drove may have been the same way. Mine was delivered with 45 LBS (its suppose to be 35 lbs) in the tires and I noticed it right away. FYI 20 and 22" wheels will continue just the wheels will get lighter. MY CTS is available with 19s. Corvettes age offering 20s, Also if I remember correctly Edge with 20" wheels have a slightly higher final gear ratio (I think the same as the sport) for a little extra zip.
