cbr600rrnut
Hi Gang! We currently have a 2010 edge and It's my wife's main vehical and I'm considering purchasing a 2008 (or 2009) to commute to work with. Do the 2008's have 6 speed tanny's or were they still the 5 speed in 08? Are there any issues I should watch out for? Thanks in advance Kelly Edited May 5, 2011 by cbr600rrnut

Only thing to watch out for is if it had a leaky PTU - then run away, seek shelter, and cover head. Just kidding, but if it has a history of PTU seal failure, stay away from the thing. See burning smell thread for more info.
Waldo
There are really no major differences between Edges from 2007 through 2010. Just color and small detail changes. But if it's just a commuter you're after, why not consider a Fusion?

Sparky
Just to be clear - only AWD versions have PTUs. The PTU probles is not a problem any more.. Just take it to the dealer and they will fix it for free. It's part of the extended power train waranty. The new seals seem to work.
nextime
If you do not have an extended powertrain warranty you still think they will fix it for free? Most people do not buy the extended warranty's. The PTU probles is not a problem any more.. Just take it to the dealer and they will fix it for free. It's part of the extended power train waranty.
