johnc77us
I know what you are going through. I have a 2011 Ford Edge Sport stored in the garage and babied and the entire My Touch System is on the fritz. It locks up frequently, buttons fade off the screen, and I cannot even get the radio to come on. In for service 3 times already where each time it worked for about 3 days and then quit. I have gotten blank screens, error messages, "Sync Performing System Maintenance", etc. All this tech. and I cannot even listen to the radio or turn on my heated seat or adjust where the heat comes out. Unbelievable. Definitely a victim of Ford's politically correct engineering team. Also, the dealer told me that two of the four rims are losing air due to corrosion of the rims. The Vista roof leaks. The paint has defects - tons of greyish spots and oxidation in it like it was left in a field over the summer or something. The trim is falling off on the drivers side rocker panel. The vehicle is a front wheel drive and 3.7L currently getting only 16.7mpg under normal driving (scared to get on it as something else will break). Other design flaws include overly complicated My Touch system GUI is a disaster and needs to be simplified, rear window does not open, SEL model is faster than SPORT and gets better gas mileage for thousands less and the dash works, no towing on sport model, vista roof is noisy (air), rain sensing wipers come on in car wash and off switch is many menus away and not memorized as are the rear beeper and traction assist, and more to come I am sure so stay tuned! Of course, I have not been compensated in the least for my troubles with this vehicle either yet the payment still goes out.

randyf
I have heard of people having problems with the vista roof which is why I stayed away from all options exc. nav on my 11 Sport. With that many issues than can be seen with plain eye & being able to replicate the electronic issues at the dealer, Ford should take the truck back. bender
I've got a 2010 edge sport, I do like the vehicle but it's been a shop queen. It's had the entire dash ripped out for a hvac smell, the rear lift gate was rubbing on the bumper, this repair took three attempts the final attempt took a new liftgate. Three out of four wheels leak due to corrosion on the beads, they've never seen winter and are stored in a heated and humidity controlled garage. The red lens fell off the right rear taillight, the windshields crack (ford said it was due to rock chips, if it was they were very very small). It had to be flatdecked into the dealership because the ignition switch fuse kept blowing (a burnt wire under the steering wheel column). Then it's been in a bunch of times for the dealer to fix stuff they damaged during repairs. Ford seems to think this is o.k.
ThinLine
Damn ! I have a shop queen '08 limited . It seems that every issue listed in the TSB's this car has had ! I added up what it has cost ford for parts and labor to repair this thing and it is teetering on the $10,000 mark !

I added up what it has cost ford for parts and labor to repair this thing and it is teetering on the $10,000 mark ! I tried trading it at the dealer, gave them a very reasonable offer. They wouldn't do it, end result is that I've bought a 2011 Sierra Denali; it would have been a Ford truck if they would have been reasonable. I like the Edge, just wish it wouldn't give me grief. I guess it'll get traded at some point before warranty expires if it doesn't become reliable. Edited April 24, 2011 by bender
