jpp
I just purchased a 2008 Ford Edge Limited. I have paired my phone (iPhone 3GS 4.3.1) with the sync system no problem. When I press the voice button on the steering wheel a message pops up on the navigation screen that says "redial?". Any thoughts why it's not giving me the "ding" and allowing me to say "Call Joe"? I can play music from the USB port, but when I click the voice button it says no paired phones found (phone was left in the house). I have updated the software from syncmyride.com and I have pulled the fuse out. Both times I did not have to re-pair my phone. I did re-pair my phone manually just in case, no such luck. Any thoughts?

igcitng
I think you're pressing the phone button, not the voice button. I never dial using Sync, just answer calls-my microphone is bad and doesn't understand me most of the time, but if I remember correctly to command it you have to press the sync button and say 'phone' and then your command. To answer you can just hit the phone button. I have accidentally pressed the phone button and it wants to redial.
jpp
I think you're pressing the phone button, not the voice button. I've attached a picture of the button I'm pressing. That's what is confusing me, maybe it's a hardware problem? I haven't found anyone else having this problem online...

igcitng
That's the one. What does she say when you press it? I have a 2008 also and it does weird things sometimes.
akirby
Could be a bad clockspring in the steering wheel. Do other buttons work intermittently or do the wrong thing? That is the right button but it's behaving as if you're pressing the phone button. What happens when you press the phone button?

Sometimes when I press the volume buttons it will change the radio station. Pressing the voice button always brings up the redial option on my nav system.
