Edgieguy
We all like SYNC, or at least think its a great idea... Saab will be using an Android based infotainment unit and has a nice presentation here. I found it interesting, take a look if you like. rwolson
IMO, just a matter of time before someone places an interface in a car for a smart phone running apps which adhere to an accepted standard. The phone or a tablet will control the vehicle and provide the consumer easier upgrade paths and choices. I've watched videos showing guys building fiberglass mounts to hold Android based tablets in cars. Also, many adapted iPads to provide infotainment functionality to cars. wilsons66604
Ooh ooh! I want one! I still think Ford should scrap the current Flash touch and go with iOS or android.
richy
If you don't rear-end someone playing with all that crap, I'll eat my hat. At least the MLT system can do the vast majority by voice. Only seat and steering wheel heaters necessitate a tactile push. I hope they can change that too.

Especially when it's not functioning the way it should. I've caught myself spending too much time looking at the screen like when I'm trying to get BT Audio to be my source. The voice system sometimes takes 4-5 minutes before it hears me. Nothing more distracting than a malfunctioning touch system Edited April 3, 2011 by wilsons66604
