richy Posted March 22, 2011 Report Share Posted March 22, 2011 It could be either salt as you say or maybe wax. Either way, use a strong alkaline cleaner on it and then an easy way to dress it is to apply tire gel with an applicator pad. Something like Megs Endurance gel will last a good while and will blacken it up nicely if you don't want to go the route of ordering something online.
