ryansdad
I have a 2007 Edge that I bought used. Have had a lot of knocks and rattles in the interior rear. Also, the Vista Roof had a rattle even on smooth roads. Had the headliner dropped and the Vista Roof was repaired per a service bulletin, but still have knocks and rattles which are hard to identify. The trim panels on the posts, etc, seem to be less that solidly installed., the seats seem to be tight and Ihave, I believe, secured the storage trays around the spare although the method of attachment seems somewhat cheesey. There are screw covers on the trim panels and I don't want to start prying them off in case I break them. Does anyone have any ideas about common causes of the noises described or a tip on removing the covers so I can see if the screws are tight? carbonedge+
The only rattle in my '07 comes from the rear seat on the driver's side. At first I thought it was something inside the rear door, but after removing the door panel and the panel inside of that, I couldn't find anything. One day as we were going down the road and my daughter pulled on the handle to lean the seat back and it stopped. I have since cut a piece from a pool noodle and wedged in between the handle and the seat. That seems to have helped. I haven't had any vista roof issues or any trim panel issues; sorry you're having these problems and that I couldn't be of more help. As I said, the seat seems to be solid, but I sometimes feel the noise is coming from there to the point that I checked the bolts on the bracket holding the seat to the floor.
