akirby
I'm looking into the 2011 Edge Sport and wondered if the engine uses synthetic oil or not? Ford uses a synthetic blend 5W-20 in the Edge and most other new vehicles. It's good for at least 7500 miles.

richy
Does anyone know of the Amsoil equivalent part number? Your timing is great. I just did my first oil change 2 days ago and used this AMSOIL product which was the top rated one in the product lookup guide: http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/asm.aspx As of this time, they do not have an EA filter available for it, neither for the MKX nor for the Mustang. I will switch to the EA filter when it comes out. That's all I ran in my Infiniti. For the time being, I'm using a WIX filter (#57502) and will replace it every 6 months and just top up the oil at the 6 month mark. The 0W20 will go a year or 40,000km (25,000 miles) before needing to be changed. http://www.wixfilters.com/filterlookup/PartDetail.asp?Part=57502

akirby
Yes it does. Just got my oil changed a week ago. =) Only if you request synthetic oil. The factory fill is a synthetic blend.
