sandpiper
When we got our Edge a month ago the conclusion was that homelink was not available on the Sport. Makes no sense to me but that seems to be the way it is.
Edgieguy
I'm coming from a 2008 Edge LTD, and considering a 2011 Sport or LTD. I'm leaning toward a Sport for the paddle shift options and I hate the chrome grill. Someone above said you can't get the homelink opener on the Sport. I can't find this info on the Ford website. I also see you can't get the roof rails (I don't want a vista roof--I need the rails for snowboards). Does anyone know about this? I am sure I could get aftermarket rails of some kind I suppose. Also, the Sport will probably win out in the longrun cause it just looks so awesome! Thanks for any advice and/or help anyone can offer. Sad but true, homelink, adaptive cruise control, and HIDs are not available on the sport. I added DDMTUNING.COMs $45.00 HID kit, re-aimed my headlamps and its been fantastic. Since I have the BAMR, I'm buying aftermarket roof racks for snowboarding. there's a thread already here showing.g everything you need and how it all works I plan on purchasing the homelink visor from fordparts.com and changing mine out. again, there's a whole write up on changing the visor. finally, I think you will find that between the limited and sport there is very little discernible difference between the ride quality of the 2011s. and yet parked side by side the limited and sport look like totally different vehicles. jackson5
I wanted an interesting vehicle. I test drove the LTD and the Sport. The LTD was just way too boring for me, a real basic family car. (with some sweet options). The Sport was just a completely different car for me, something nice to look at. I would have regretted it forever if i had "settled" for the LTD. I may even swap down to 20" rims eventually, there are a few i like which i have seen on the Jeeps. I dont know if the difference in weight between 22" to 20" is even worth swapping tho. Edited June 4, 2011 by jackson5
shantz
I really wanted a Sport - but based on a recomendation from a Ford employee I went with a Limited (My Dad works for Ford) and couldn't be happier. I went one step further and had all of the lower claddings painted body-color to really set the tone of the Limited and make it appear more like the Sport package. I couldn't justify the added cost simply for painted lower claddings, and for the 22's - Plus - given the softer compound, they're more money to replace when they wear, and given our climate (I live in the Pacific Northwest) not all that friendly to drive year-round. Plus the chrome-clad wheels are easier to keep clean versus the aluminum wheels on the Sport. just my $.02 - Thanks

Unless you jettison the 22s, the Limited will pull away from the Sport.
NatG
I picked the Limited over the Sport for a number of reason, but the 22's wouldn't be a good choice in Pot-hole country (I live in NJ...in an area where the roads seem to shatter as you drive over them, and where contruction is happening everywhere). I prefer a smoother ride and rims that will last (I have 18's on my Edge). Honestly, the 3.5 pulles pretty hard, and I am noticing some real-world mileage around 22 mpg (combined). I do mostly Highway and I've been using the AC a lot. I would figure the Sport's numbers would be marginally lower. I will say the Sport has great looks, and the motherload of chrome on the front of the Limited looks pretty but I have concerns about pitting in the long-run (I might get the grill inserts and paint them black). My advice to the OP, or other potential buyers, would be to measure your needs and consider the environment on which you'll be using the car. I felt the same way about the 22"s. The 18s would be much more practical with potholes as well as semi off_road conditions. I also wanted the HIDs, Tow Package, and the sturdy lower body panels (I got a black Edge so the black plastic isn't that noticeable) I also like the Big As Chrome Grille over the black one.
