Brought my edge in for its 2nd oil change and I get a call from the service dept. telling me I have a leak coming from my transfer case!!! WTF!! I have to bring it back on Monday. I've loved my edge from day one but now with problems like this with only 6,000 miles its not loving me back, with all my other cars (all Hondas) and 300,000+ miles and never anything but regular service this doesn't make me happy

Yeah this is the first issue I've had but it sounds like it could be a major one. The explanation I got was "they've had issues with this problem on other vehicles" and "I have most the parts to fix the problem but not all so it could take a few days once we open it up" anyway I get an SEL+ with all the options as my loaner so as long as they fix the problem they can keep it for a few days. I'll update when I have more info.

Keep us posted...it sucks that a "new" $35,000 vehicle has this kind of problem. I am thinking it could just be a bad seal. I have heard something as simple as a seal not bieng put on by a mechanic or dealer or manufacturer. A $10 seal can cause you headaches. Again keep us posted. Think i will put mine on jack stands this weekend and check my transfer case/oil pan, etc, for any leaks just to be sure.

Honda's can also have their problems. The very worse modern day car I ever had was a Honda Accord EX. Too many problems to even list here, but the worse thing was the attitude of the dealers who made me feel that I was the only one with these problems, and that nothing ever goes wrong with a Honda.

Most problems did get fixed on first try. One took me to tell them where the problem was and what needed to be done for the fix, and that one took three visits. The worse one, dealer always told me that "We cant duplicate the problem" and they would never fix it until one day while talking to the District Service Rep about another problem, I mentioned this worse problem. The Rep said, "oh, we have a fix for that now". Dealers knew about the problems but never wanted to fix it until the Rep had another dealer order the parts, and got it fixed. Traded it when I started to have even more problems and have never owned a Honda car since.

Got my edge back yesterday for the dealer and they said that the Transfer case was just over filled in the factory and the "overflow tube" is on the top and was making it look like it was leaking when it was just over filled. They said at the next service they will check again but I shouldn't have any adverse problems from it being over filled

After reading through the entire post string, I am glad to hear that your Edge ended up not having a problem and that it was just an overfilled transfer case. Unfortunately, mine actually did develop a leak in the transfer case and has now been in the shop for a week waiting on parts from the factory. I've had it 2 weeks and it only has 500 miles on it. I have been really surprisingly happy with it since taking ownership and was really disappointed when I noticed a lot of transmission fluid on the garage floor last week. However the dealership has been really responsive and very aggressive on getting the parts in. I should get it back tomorrow (Friday) which would be a week and two days in the shop. I am guessing it was just a fluke and that it wasn't installed properly at the factory - same thing the dealer thinks as they haven't seen any other problems like this. Hopefully this will be the only issue I have with it during my 24 month lease. I have been a Honda/Acura loyalist for 12 years and seven vehicles - first time I have come back to a domestic vehicle in a long time and this isn't a great way to start off. None of my Honda's ever had any type of problem - absolute blissful ownership. I am hoping I'll be able to end up feeling the same at the end of this experience.
