Dizzy Posted January 4, 2011 Report Share Posted January 4, 2011 According to www.syncmyride.com, Ford has released a new Gen 2 update (BT4T-14D544-BE Version SYNC GEN 2). It appears to be a self install via USB. Has anyone performed this yet? I have not done the dealer install Gen 2 update (BT4T-14D544-BD Version SYNC GEN 2) due to all the issues I have been hearing about. Are both required? Does one replace the other? Notice that the install code differs by one letter only (BE or BD) Please share your thoughts as I'm sure many of us are waiting anxiously for some positive feedback! Keeping my fingers crossed! This is what it shows I've confirmed but it's still telling me that update is available. The number on the sheet I printed from syncmyride and brought to the dealer was BT4T-14D544-BD. And my update page says this in the bottom right corner: Sync Version1.3 Confirmed installations BT4T-14D545-BA BT4T-14D546-AD BT4T-14F496-AD BT4T-14F497-AD Waiting to download 0 items. I don't understand if I received the latest update since others posted it took hours to install and mine didnt take very long at all. The fact that both updates showed up was a bug and we apologize for that. There is just one update right now and it requires a dealer visit. Dizzy Posted January 6, 2011 Author Report Share Posted January 6, 2011 So both Gen2 updates have disappeared from the syncmyride website. It's supposedly a glitch! I can't imagine it would take long to at least fix the update information on the website! I did call my dealer today and was told that they have been informed by Ford yesterday (01-05-11) that Gen2 update has been corrected and is ready to be installed. My dealer suggested to wait since they have not done any installs yet and they were going to perform them on some of the new cars on the lot. He had asked to call back next week (around 01-12-11) to see how the updates have turned out. I will post feedback from the dealer. Please post your own findings or update results.
