Vandeleigh
Trying to do some research and this forum has been a great resource for ton of knowledge. One issue I'm quite curious about, I thought some of you running 55w kits could help with. I'm curious if anyone that has the 55w kit installed has had any issues w/overheating that causes any melting/damage to their headlight housings? I ask because this has happened to me in the past using a 55w kit (not a kit from RS)...I'm considering using a 55w for my wifes Edge, just do not want to cause and damage to the housing. Thanks in advance! Branden
ablb
I thought HID’s ran cooler than halogen??? We’ve had 55W hid’s in our MKX (projectors) for a little over a yr. The only problem is they are TOO bright, need to upgrade to 35W with the newish solution for the bulb out warning. Send Todd at Retro-Solutions an email. http://www.retrosolutionsllc.com/servlet/StoreFront ab
phlatlander
This fellow's website offers good advice regarding headlight bulbs etc. I bought Osrams from him several years ago for my '03 Passat. http://www.danielsternlighting.com/
