chowland
I am replacing the steering angle sensor (its behind steering wheel) and need to remove the steering wheel to do so. I am disconnecting the negative terminal on battery to ensure no air bag deployment. Can anyone add any other information on how to do this? Waldo
There are 4 holes on the back of the airbag, you need to stick something through them and release the clips that hold the module in place. You do know that the ABS module has to be recalibrated if you install a new steering angle sensor, right? Also the clockspring is very delicate , you must follow the proper procedures to align it and keep it from rotating. You really ought to get yourself a copy of the shop manual before attempting this job,
chowland
Thanks for the information. Do you know how to recalibrate the abs? The dealer wants $250.00 to do this job and I do not have the funds. I will try to get a hold of a manual for this.
