Burtman
Is their a way to increase the distance of the remote starter. My old vehicle starter would work at 1000 feet from the vehicle. I think I read that the edge remote starter is within 400 feet!
choff1138
I can consistently start my car from 15 floors up in a building with so many radio towers on it that I can't imagine much more interference. I don't know distance, but I am happy with how mine works.
Ridbidge
I have 2011 Sport and I start my vehicle every day from inside my apartment, which is on the 2nd floor of the building, with direct view (through the windows) to the vehicle, which is about 900' away at least, I would estimate. 2007_S281#22
Higher is better and wouldn't work @ 500 Meters? that's over a 1/4 mile! I'm not surprised. Ford claims up to 1000' note the up to! Ours on the 2010 won't release from the Valet Mode, goes in Sat for repairs Edited January 28, 2011 by 2007_S281#

I've tried today to start it from inside of the locker room on the gym, and didn't worked... I guess it can be a 1000 feet without anything in the middle.... Edgieguy
I regularly start my Edge from inside a brick and mortar building on the third floor and through 3 stone walls and then across a parking lot. Id guess 500' at least, but the three stone walls inbetween has to kill range as well.
baum
it all depends on the interference. to comply with fcc regulations they have to accept interference. I still believe that when a manu states the distance they test it in an open field with nothign around for miles and miles. if distance is something that is really important you should look into some of the phone activated aftermarket remote starts. mine for instance i just call a 1-800 number from any phone (land line or cell) and i can start my car from anywhere in the world.
