2011 Edge Sport - ticking noise

I love my Edge, but there is this strange ticking sound when I start it up. After I drive it for a while, it disappears. Doesn't matter what the temp is outside. This can't be normal?

 

There is also a bit of a vibration in the steering wheel when driving at higher speeds. I suppose I should take it in to get checked, but I figured someone out here may have already been through this and may be able to provide some good advice and/or info surrounding it all.

You know, I hear a ticking noise from the engine when I go outside of it to get my mail. It's not very loud so I don't really care. I need to check my oil level to be safe though, a guy from out west has had some big time oil issues.

Same ticking noise here, 2011 Edge Limited. I'm going to ask the dealer tomorrow, when I go in for the Sync update. Almost sounds like a valve.

hey everyone. the ticking noise is normal. when i heard it i did some checking and everyone said they all do that. it seems once it warms up a little its not so noticeable.

Exactly. Mine almost goes away altogether. My question is: What makes this ticking noise "normal?"
