cirockets
Any thoughts on extended warranty for the 2011 Edge. Anyone purchasing the extended warranty, costs etc.
richy
I bought one for my MKX. All the electronic stuff scares me. With my old Infiniti FX35, their ext warranty did not cover the things like the LASER guided cruise, etc. I was not concerned about the drivetrain. With Ford, the ext warranty covers everything. That's why I bought it. I got one for 7 years which is how long I keep cars on average. I paid $3100 I believe.
Burtman
I paid $1165. which included the extra $90. for a rental car at the time you bring your car in for service, not having to wait, not the normal wait in finding out what is broken on the vehicle before they give you a rental. My extended Warrenty was for 6/100,000. I was able to find the lower prices on the internet brought to the dealer and after asking the dealer "maybe I can buy this vehicle at a lower price on the internet too" I was given the price I found on the internet. And YES this is a Ford top of the line Extended Warrenty.
lowesdell
I think it is called the ESP plan, i don't know if it is 6 or 7 years, but I priced from different dealers. I will probably get it for 970 with a 200 deductible from a different dealer than purchase

MrHappy
I started a thread around here somewhere where a phone contact to an internet dealer was listed. His prices beat everyone else I could find, just debating if I want to spend extra for the rental car option.
fathead
I got my 6yr/100k premium care with $100 deductible online from Flood Ford for $910. It was pretty much half the price that I was offered at the local dealership that I purchased my Edge at. MrHappy
FYI, my quote for 7/100 100 deduct premium care (no rental) was $1170. (First day rental addon was $90)
Trisha07.07.07
I paid $1,500 for the ESP Premium Care (5 years) Hope I didn't pay too much.
MrHappy
Trisha, don't sweat what you can't change. What's important is you're covered now with peace of mind!
Greener
Very good question, but you know the answer will be "no" if you ask any dealer here in Canada.
richy
In Canada, extended warranty costs from a dealer are almost triple some of the prices quoted here. Given that Ford's warranty is fully transferable between Canada and the U.S., does anyone know if Canadians can purchase the same extended warranties from U.S. based internet sales? Now that's a DAMNED good question!! I wish I'd thought to research that prior to purchasing mine. Don't tell me if you find out you can...you'd hear me cry from there, LOL. richy
Yes you can buy the ESP from the US. Well, it serves me right for not researching that part of it. Next time I suppose.
